WARNING: The dark web contains potentially dangerous content and illegal activities.
Proceed with extreme caution. This guide is for educational purposes only.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1
Download and Install Tor Browser
The Tor Browser is your gateway to the dark web. It's a modified version of Firefox that routes your traffic through the Tor network.
Visit the official Tor Project website at https://www.torproject.org/ and download the browser for your operating system.
Only download Tor from the official website to avoid malicious software.
2
Install and Configure Tor Browser
After downloading, install the browser like any other application. When you first launch it, you'll be prompted with a connection window.
For most users, the default configuration is sufficient. If you're in a country with internet restrictions, you may need to configure Tor bridges.
3
Connect to the Tor Network
Click "Connect" to establish a connection to the Tor network. This might take a minute as Tor creates a secure circuit through multiple relays.
Once connected, you'll see the Tor Browser homepage confirming you're connected to the Tor network.
4
Access Onion Sites
You can now access .onion sites by entering their addresses in the address bar. Regular websites (clearnet) will also work through Tor.
